My experience with Dr Jarchow has been wonderful! I have 2 young desert tortoises that he has seen several times now, I'm new to raising tortoises and I've had lots of questions! He's always patient and reassuring and takes the time to answer every single one. The care he's given them has been exceptional, he doesn't perform or suggest unnecessary treatments, the prices are more than reasonable and the entire staff is always kind and helpful!

A genuinely nice place. The doctor I dealt with was a gentleman and indeed a gentle man. Interactions I witnessed in the lobby (customer v staff) handled issues well and compassionately. Another tricky one for me is atmosphere. I get irritated around pretense of any kind and there was none in sight- a major relief! Will happily be a return customer.

Our boy Bauer had a full wellness exam and I was scared to see the bill. It was quite low considering all that they did and discussed. Dr Merker and his assistant are both so kind and loving towards Bauer honestly I was worried Bauer was going to be a typical grumpy old man, but they are naturals towards our 4 legged friends and birds! Kudos woof huff The front staff should also be avknowledged for a job well done! Dr Merker Has been there for all my friends below Thank you

This was my first visit here and I was very favorably impressed. The staff is very friendly, and I didn't have to wait long. The vet spent a long time talking to me about my dog. She called me the next day with the test results and explained everything. I feel very confident about using this vet clinic.

The vets care, but I'm impressed how consistently we've seen the same doctor. I've been to the chain vet clinic and we've always had rotating consults, but here we are almost guaranteed to see Dr. Gordon. When we don't, the care is still amazing and it is doubtless you're getting A+ quality. This clinic sees your normal variety of pets but also some of the less typical variety, like lizards and birds (or so the waiting room in my visits have led me to believe. If things have changed, I apologize). It's always pleasant and helpful, I don't know what else to say except come see it for yourself.

As always, the staff at Orange Grove Animal Hospital are great. It's always interesting to see what types you f animals are in the waiting room since they provide the unique vet service for exotic animals. In Tucson, we have an active tortoise community with many custodians. We have been taking our tortoise(s) to Dr. Jarchow for 12 years & he is the best!

I've been going to Orange Grove Animal Hospital for over 15 years since moving to Tucson. Dr Jarkow is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and very professional. Over these 15 years he has helped me with sending four of my dogs over the Rainbow Bridge.my last one Bunny in July, 2020. His assistant, Crystal, is also very professional and compassionate.

We have been going to orange Grove animal hospital for our bearded dragon, and decided to continue using them for our newly adopted kittens. The staff is very friendly with both the people and animals. Their prices are reasonable, and they are responsive to phone calls. We will continue to use them to keep our pets healthy and happy. Highly recommend.

Terrible experience leaving our dog here. We were told our dog was aggressive and that's why they didn't feed him. His nose was bleeding when we picked him up, we were told he was wrestling with the cage. Then we get a call form the vet saying she does not want to see our dog again. Don't worry there's no way our pup will stay at this terrible place with such unprofessional workers. Avoid yourself the aggravation.

I love visiting Orange Grove Animal Hospital. I have two Sonoran Desert Tortoises and Dr. Jim Jarchow and his staff are reptile and exotic animal specialists, with Dr. Jarchow especially being an expert in desert tortoises. There's a lot of bad information on the internet on how to take care of them and one visit to Dr. Jarchow can clear up the many questions I accumulate.
He does a thorough exam and really enjoys seeing my tortoises and how they're doing. The staff is very nice and always tries to answer my questions if I call in with something simple. They also see cats and dogs and board them, as well. Many people were coming in to pick up their dogs when I was waiting last time which seemed like a vote of confidence to me. I highly recommend this animal clinic.

I took my four year old mini Schnauzer for his first ever dental cleaning last week after receiving a card in the mail about February being animal dental care month. I was pretty nervous handing him over, but the staff took such great care of him that I was immediately put at ease. The vet did Tucker's heart worm blood draw and gave him two shots while he was under to keep his discomfort to a minimum.
Four hours later, I picked up my little guy. I am so glad I started his dental routine now before his teeth became a bigger problem. The office called to check on him the next morning to make sure all was well. Thank you, Orange Grove Animal Hospital for making this an easy process for Tucker and me!

OVERPRICED! They charged a ridiculous amount for a urinalysis and culture. I work in the medical field and a human urinalysis and culture doesn't come even close to that. Then they charged a "lab interpretation" fee, not sure why it cost $40 for them to read off a paper. Then instead of recommending other ways for helping my pup they jumped straight to recommending I put her on a prescription diet. then tried super hard for me to buy it through them. The only reason they got two stars was because the tech and vet were nice. Front desk gals did not seem like they wanted to be there.

I was referred to Orange Grove by my regular Vet because of a need for special meds for my Guinea Pigs and a better cost for them. I arrived and went to the reception area where an older white lady with long hair was sitting, I told her why I was there and from down her nose she said the Doctor is at lunch until 2pm. And that she new nothing of my medication and I needed to make an appointment to see the doctor about this.
I drove all the way across town to go there special for my pets and this woman is trying her best to make this difficult for me. I am not a wealthy person but I wasn't there asking for charity I can afford the meds I did my research. She was treating me as if I were trash. I came from work on my lunch hour so I was in my work clothes but not dirty.
I couldn't believe when she went to the back and was talking to the vet tech and asking each other if I could afford these meds. I am not only embarrassed about all of this but I am just as good as anyone else and should never have been treated like this. Prejudice is a Horrible thing to experience for someone who is supposed to care about out pets. This woman should never be working with the public. I guess if your rich she would be more friendly perhaps. So Sad.

My cat had been vomiting the previous 24 hours and then stopped vomiting the night before I took her in. The assistant took her temperature, her and the VET looked over briefly and said it could be anything, hairballs, upset stomach or a blockage. The VET (a young lady) was actually afraid the cat would bite her, so she did not feel her stomach for any kind of lump or obstruction and kept her distance, even though I explained I would hold her still.
She then suggested I either do tests or watch her for the next 48 hours and bring her back in if she does not improve. The test cost between $600 and $800. $52 for the office visit and the VET would not go near the cat. The cat is a siamese long hair and weighs 11 pounds. $52 for a rectal thermometer and nothing else.

Just moved here and brought my one cat in who has been having Urinary Issues. We had a great experience and they really listened and explained EVERYTHING! We were happy with our old vet back in Chicago, but honestly I'd choose Orange Grove over them. Prices were reasonable and we paid less than what we would have in Chicago (and our vet there was one of the cheaper ones!) Super happy to have found a great vet in our new hometown.

I adopted my girl Faith from the pound last year. When they release you with your new family member, they give you a list of places they suggest taking your new pet to for a check up. This was one of the places. I took Miss Faith here a year ago for her new pooch check-up and I was impressed, but it was my first vet check so I didn't rate it. Now, after check two, as well as shots, AND.after falling madly in LOVE, I was more in tuned with how people treat my little girl.
I was so impressed! This place is awesome! And even better. I can tell they LOVE my pooch as much as we do! The care they took knowing she had previously been beaten and is extremely shy, was impressive. I was so grateful to know that the staff and Dr.'s here really seem to care for our animals as much as we do. As for the price, I have nothing to compare it to. Faith got 2 shots, Parvo, Distemper and Rabies, as well as a check-up and it cost me $85.
