Services
My name is Jason. I created DogTrouble. Net to help me spread the word about natural solutions for dog behavior problems. Today far too many dogs are written off as "bad dogs" and get locked in the slammer (shelter) and put on death row. When dog behavior problems start affecting your life it's time to get serious help for your canine friend.
In-Home Behavior Consultation This is the most popular choice for most clients who need help with their dog behavior problems. Dog behaviorist Jason Miller comes to your home to evaluate your situation and create a custom rehab program for you to follow at home. Camp Dog Trouble Boarding Rehab This program is for those who prefer to have their dog rehabilitated at the Greenville Dog Psychology Center by behaviorist Jason Miller. Often the best choice for serious aggression cases or other serious fears and phobias.
Here you will find profiles of the past and present members of Jason's Pack. Jasons Dog Psychology Center is and has been home to some amazing pack members. Each member of the pack learns to help other dogs and people in ways no human could dream of. Jada came to stay with Jason for rehabilitation from extreme food aggression.

Went Friday with 2 friends to let my pup watch their dogs doing activity. Also Alex has been very helpful with info on pup training.

Having gone through numerous positive reinforcement only trainers, none of which could get a handle on my reactive gsd, I decided to see if the more balanced approach the Jo offered could help. All I can say is that while far from being the perfect dog now, Jo has taught my dog (and more importantly me) how to manage ourselves in a world where countless off leash dogs are running around invading other people's space thinking it's ok because "my dog's friendly". Also my dog has always had problems with most food I gave her and with the food Jo provided during her boot camp, my dog finally had solid poo that I can pick up easily now!

I highly recommend Jo Cottrell for a dog trainer. She possesses extensive knowledge of dog behaviour. Jo is caring, professional and skilled at seeing what is needed to help dogs and owners succeed in their relationship. She uses positive training techniques which is key in helping you grow the relationship between you and your dog. I attended a two day work workshop at trouble dogs with my rescue dog Dodo, the staff were very welcoming and helpful, lovely place to do the training, lovely paddocks and farm animals, helping Dodo to socialise with different animals. Thank you Jo and staff. xx

I contacted Dog Trouble after having already tried other trainers/behaviourist to help with my dogs reactivity, to little success. I was at a bit of a loss, nothing was helping and he seemed overwhelmed and stressed by almost everything on walks (as was I!) The anxiety workshop has massively helped, it was really practical, putting new skills to work and also really increased my confidence, learning how to relax more and be his leader.

I found Jo to be really supportive and kind throughout, answering all my questions. I just really enjoyed both days. I've since taken him to busier places that I would not have dreamed off before doing this workshop, we have work to do but he is so much calmer and getting more used to it, and I'm just really grateful that Jo got us both on the right track to enjoy many more walks!

A month a go we rescued a 2 1/2 year old Dalmatian, who had had a very tough life & was aggressive towards other dogs whilst out on walks. We were at the point where we thought we wouldn't be able to cope & we're going to have to re home him, then we found Dog Trouble run by the wonderful Jo Cottrell. At very short notice we were able to secure a place on the Aggressive Dog workshop & spent 2 days with Jo, learning not only about how to cope with his aggressive behaviour, but also how to calm him with the use of Aromatherapy, which for us, was such a powerful learning experience, seeing how he reacted to the oils & how it calmed him.

In just a week since the workshop, using Jo's training methods & aromatherapy, we have been able to introduce him to other dogs in our family, which has been nothing short of life changing & wouldn't have been possible without Jo's help. Using the Aromatherapy At home, he has been able to properly rest & feel more comfortable, which we feel has then benefited his behaviour whilst out on walks.

Today for instance we met 7 other dogs whilst out & it was as if they weren't even there! Truly wonderful & we hope the continued use of Jo's training techniques & Aromatherapy, will see the continuation of his improvement & eventually will see him walking off lead. Thank you Jo & all the Team at Dog Trouble

After just one session with Jo, our Labrador went from being a handful on walks lunging in all directions and whom my wife was too afraid to walk to an absolute pleasure on the leash. So much amazing knowledge and so many tips are imparted in just one class that we can't wait to see how much more we will grow as dog owners in a second class!

I really can't say enough about how amazing Jo is. We'd adopted a rescue dog from Greece called Sunny who was absolutely petrified of humans. We couldn't get a collar or lead on her for three months and we were so unsure what to do for the best. We tried a number of other trainers who were lovely but were struggling with Sunny's levels of fear. We heard about Jo and she turned everything around for us and for Sunny.

Her training really works and she adores the dogs. Sunny loved her and her pack of dogs! She's now a very happy, fun-loving little dog who adores humans, other dogs, long walks and playing ball. I cannot thank Jo enough.

The kennels, enclosures and service at this place are amazing and the food the dogs are fed is frankly better than I eat. They also genuinely care about dogs. We went to Jo at Dog Trouble as our collie x had fear aggression. Other trainers had given up, had no effect and one even recommended she should be euthanised. We were walking our dog before 6am and after 10pm just to avoid others.

We were desperate. Jo did a full assessment, gave us tools to work with and then helped build the confidence of our collie x. This was in a variety of settings so real life training. Our collie became more confident and as a result was able to socialise and walk as most dogs would. She was always a little nervous but we were taught how to recognise the signs and stay calm. I can't speak highly enough of this place.

Jo has an amazing understanding of dogs' natural behaviour. We had recall issues with a rescue hunting hound. We'd spent a fortune on dog trainers who insisted that treat based training must work, but it was obvious that it was never going to work with her. She has absolutely no interest in food whilst she is in hunt mode and we'd not been able to let her off lead anywhere.

After 1 session with Jo, she was able to go off lead with an e-collar (that Jo taught us to use properly). A year down the line, we can confidently let her off anywhere and for the last 2 days we've walked round a local nature reserve that's full of rabbits and haven't even had to turn her e-collar on! Jo is worth every penny and I would thoroughly recommend her (and have)!
