I visited beach pet hospital earlier today for my French bulldog Napoleon. Everyone was so friendly and the vet was very knowledgeable About the particular breed and Was able to give me good advice on what food to feed him. They welcomed Napoleon when he arrived and he took very well to everyone there it seemed as if he did not want to leave. when we go for his next appointment this Wednesday I'm sure he will be excited to return. I highly recommend beach pet hospital.

This is an amazing pet hospital. My dog had been attacked is tacked by another dog while he was being watched by someone else. The Penn hospital took me in immediately assessed him And he had surgery that day. They are very reasonable and just the nicest people is the nicest people. I will not go anywhere else again

I want to warn everyone about this Veterinary Hospital and it's owner. I have filed a formal complaint with the Board of Veterinary Medicine. I called for prescription refills for my dog. I asked for a 90-day supply. When I picked it up, it was much more expensive than it typically was. When I arrived home, I realized that they had given me a 180 day supply.
They admitted to the error but insisted that I drive back, from Greenbrier, a thirty minute drive, to return it before giving me a refund. I said, it wasn't my mistake and I would like to be refunded immediately. They refused. The owner called angry at me and refused the refund too. This is consumer exploitation. Find a better Vet your animals!

I love Beach Pet and have told all of my friends to bring their pets here. They are so caring and kind with my dog who is a nervous wreck coming in the doors. I really feel like they genuinely care about her and they do everything they can to make her comfortable with so much positive reinforcement. I've seen so many different docs and associates here, and really have had a pleasant experience with everybody. Mary Katherine has been helping with her re-conditioning training for her nails and is so beyond sweet with Ellie. Again, 10/10 recommend this practice due to the staff.

I had a standing appointment for a well check for my new rescue kitten at 4:30pm one Friday. I waited for about 30 minutes before inquiring how much longer I had to wait. The receptionist said they had a few emergency visits that day and were running behind. Why I wasn't told this when I checked in (or called prior to my visit) so I could make a decision if I wanted to wait or not is beyond me.
At 5:15 I checked again with no change. Having plans that night at 6:00, I finally left at 5:30 without seeing the vet. I contacted the office via their website about this and never heard a word back from anyone. Needless to say, I now have an awesome vet at another practice I am very happy with.

Leilani at the front desk was an absolute angel when I came in earlier today. She was extremely courteous and kind even when I had missed my appointment by an entire hour. Not only that, she was able to find me an appointment a couple weeks out. I've been taking my cranky little feline here for nearly 3 years now and everytime has been nothing but an excellent experience.

The staff there have always been professional and kind and I absolutely love the thorough care and guidance Dr. Laurence has provided my pet reptiles and I for the past 8+ years. When the time unfortunately came to say goodbye to one of my pets, Beach Pet went above and beyond to squeeze me in and be there for us in our time of need. When I am ready to welcome another pet into my life I know they will have wonderful professional care with Beach Pet.

I would give 6 stars if I could. My husband and I recently added a new puppy to our household, and within days, had a major medical crisis on our hands. Our puppy had serious medical issues that were not detected by the breeder (or the breeder's vet), including significant neurological symptoms, a UTI, bladder stones, contracted tendons, and (as Beach Pet discovered) a liver shunt.
We've used Beach Pet for routine medical care for our other dog and have always been very pleased, but in this crisis, they went above and beyond. The vets provided excellent medical care and an accurate diagnosis of the primary underlying condition immediately. They respond promptly to messages with urgent concerns, and although our puppy has a long road ahead of him as he gets better, it has made such a huge difference knowing that we have a stellar team of medical professionals providing him with the best possible care-- he will need surgery to repair his liver when he is older, but in the meantime, his symptoms have been all but eliminated under their prescribed regimen.
Our pup's care is primarily managed by Dr. Lawrence and Dr. Upchurch, both of whom have made an incredibly difficult situation much easier to cope with. If you are looking for consummate professionals who genuinely care about your pet's wellbeing, this is the veterinary practice for you.

There are no words that could describe our experience. It was absolutely outstanding and this place is exactly what you look for and want in a veterinarian. A family oriented place! Our sweet girl was in an emergency situation and we called Beach Pet on a Wednesday morning and they took her within and hour after that phone call. It might have been right place right time or luck, but the way they handled and treated the entire situation was amazing, passionate and heartfelt. Christina and her team throughly briefed us on everything and even let my husband be with our girl before surgery.
We have been looking for a vet like this for awhile and finally found one. Kindness and passion make the experience so much better especially when you have a very sick fur baby. This place did that every step of the way! Thank you so much!

Wow. Just Wow. Beach Pet blew me away with the way they cared for my cat. He became very ill very fast and I was unable to get answers from another vet hospital that I had been going to for many years with all my babies. I found out in 3 hours what I needed to know, after 2 weeks with no answers from the other vet. Everyone I spent time with at Beach Pet clearly loves animals AND their job. Dr. Upchurch explained things to me in a manner that I could easily understand - even though I was a complete and total emotional mess. I am a fan and recommend Beach Pet to everyone now.

I don't write reviews unless the service is really bad or really good. Like most pet owners, we have visited different vets over the last 20 years, depending on where we live at the time. We have been looking for a permanent veterinarian since we moved here a little more than a year ago. Our visit to Beach Pet was the best ever. Both the tech and the doctor were exceptional. Patient, great with our rescue dog and actually had a conversation with us that provided excellent information covering everything from inoculations and meds to weight management and exercise. Zero upselling or pushing one product over another, just the upside/downside of each and some background on why something work in this climate and some don't. A+

Around a year and a half ago I took my dog there and their staff took us into a bereavement room gave us the death news and gave us a few weeks of life left with her. Put us through a bunch of unwarranted grief. Really? Took the same dog there for eye problems a month ago (death news BEEP! INVALID) they charged me an absorbent amount regarding a lab test to which they never delivered to me.
I finally had to get it from another vet a month later! I called them many times to inquire on the tests.no words were spoken between us and they just constantly hung up on me as they are so overwhelmed. I reached them today and ask them for a referral to an eye specialist and they told me they would not give me a referral they were extremely rude and this place has gone completely downhill they have too many clients and are very focused on charging the clients without any focus on giving the results that the clients pay for.
They EVEN could have MAILED me the results, but no, looks like they are to chency to buy a stamp! Piss poor service, never gets back to the customer with the lab results, never updated any of my information, absorbent prices, and no finesse in handling the customer(* even worse, "HOSTILE"), and I have to go to another vet for a referral to an eye specialist.
Look down and see the fake Sweet reply from Christina S. My experience: shes not too sweet, pretty blatantly rude and condescending on the phone, not worthy of ANY customers. I personally asked her for the referral today.she hemmed and hawed and then I said, its my right isnt it? and she got really nasty verbally then hung up! Great way to keep a Client Christine. way to go!

Have been taking my animals here for ten years. Found out my dog had a luxating patella and needed surgery so I set up a day. the morning we arrived for surgery an assistant came out with the paper work etc and said the price which was gonna be over $3,000. I was good for it but since it was right before Christmas I asked her if I could pay half today and the rest on the 1st of December when I got paid she said they don't do that but She went in to ask her manager and came back and said no that it has to be paid in full. Didn't end up doing the surgery and left. My animals are now going to a different vet.

We love this practice! They have been caring for our animals (currently one dog and one cat) for many years, and have helped us through many difficult situations with our treasured family members, in addition to general, routine care. Dr. Dave Laurence has been our go-to vet for many years, so he knows our animals very well and is beyond amazing, however each and every one of the vets we have seen over the years (emergency visits, etc) has been so caring and professional, and the office staff is wonderful as well.
I long for the day when we can actually once again bring our animals into the building, and have a face to face interaction with the office staff and the doctors. However, they are doing a great job adjusting to the current new normal with COVID restrictions. Love this place!

I've been going to beach pet vet for over 10 years and have never had an issue until recently. I wanted to let people know as well as hopefully bring awareness to the Beach Pet staff that your front desk staff, that I believe are reasonably new, have been exceptionally rude recently not only to myself but several other of my friends that their pets are clients of yours also. I usually don't write a review but I did want to bring this to your attention to hopefully correct this lack of professionalism by these employees.

Beach Pet Hospital went above and beyond during our challenging visit. My family and I had to put down our sweet cat that we've had since I was ten (a total of eighteen years). We were completely devastated, but the vet and doctor made us feel extremely comfortable. They talked us through the process, made my baby feel loved until his last moments and truly we felt the hospital cared for our kitty.
We left knowing we had made the right decision and the vet made us a clay paw to always remember Milo. A week later the awesome team at Beach Hospital sent us a sentimental card. I couldn't help but tear us. I would 10/10 recommend! Thanks again Beach Pet Hospital!

I have used this vet for years. Not anymore! They have no clue when it comes to scheduling appointments. I recently got a new puppy. The 1st visit I waited in my car 23 minutes before someone came to get her. The 2nd visit I waited 26 minutes in my car. The 3rd visit, I was still outside 35 minutes waiting. No consideration of the paying customer's time or what they have going on. While they may have vets that can provide good emergency service, my time is valuable.

I bragged about this place in the past. They had awesome service and very knowledgeable vets. But, the service has quickly declined. They have lost their touch on customer service. I called to get a general idea of what it would cost to spay a new puppy we adopted. Our other 2 dogs are current patients. But, because she has not been yet, I am told they can not even give a general idea of the cost until we pay to have an examination done.

Had a bit of an emergency with my cat today. Being a Sunday only limited Vet services were open. After consulting one "Banfield" which told me they could see my pet in late April, I found Beach Pet Hospital. They were quick to set up an appointment for me on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival I found a very nice group of people who cared for my cat in a very professional manner. I would recommend this Vet to anyone I know. They are great!

We have been a client of Beach Pet Hospital for over 20 years! They treat us like family. Our cats have received best in class medical care over the course of their long lives thanks to Beach Pet Hospitals team. A few of our favorites Dr.(s) Upchurch, Back, Gagnon and Laurence are brilliant veterinarians, always up to date on the latest medical science and when unavailable, the doctors on duty have similar knowledge and wisdom and treat us with the same respect and care.
The Assistants and Technicians are also very knowledgeable, loving and dedicated, handling my beloved family member as one of their very own. Beach Pet is a jewel in our Virginia Beach community and we are lucky to have them.

Best hospital. Best veterinarians. That is all. They are the best, especially for pets that have had less than positive experiences with other vets. Their care is done with excellence and kindness, especially Christina, who by far is one of the most exceptional people I have ever met. Beach Pet Hospital. when your pet needs as much care and love as you would give.

I. Love. This. Vet. My dogs are my kids, and after a progressively bad experience with the last vet, I was skeptical. But from the moment we walked in, they were kind and absolutely interested in our three dogs. After we signed in and sat, we really didn't wait too long before being put into and examination room. The assistants were so pleasant and gentle with our dogs.
The doctor was invested in their care, didn't rush us nor try to sell us. I am so happy and comfortable here. The staff is amazing with our dogs and made it so simple and easy to care for them, and they are priced very well. I trust this clinic and I highly suggest them if your looking for a place for your pet.

I cannot say enough good things about Beach Pet. They are everything you look for in a vet practice.experienced, knowledgable, caring, and reasonably priced. The doctors are fantastic, amazing and so knowledgable. They know their stuff and are happy to explain every little detail of whats going on. I have never once felt rushed, or like my questions where annoying them.
The doctors always tell me the cost of something before they do it. When there are multiple courses of action they explain the most cost effective option and the different possible treatment options. I have never felt that they have pushed any services or products unnecessarily, in fact I feel like they make an attempt to keep the costs down for me.
I have called them probably ~3-4 times in an absolute panic about one of my pets exhibiting really scary symptoms and every-time they have always fit me in the same day. I don't think I could ask more of a vet, clearly they always go above and beyond for their patients. Some more mundane but important notes. They have the waiting area in different sections so it is never too crowded or chaotic.
They also have a separate cat entrance if you so choose. It is clean, smells nice, and clearly sanitized between patients. They are kind, patient, and accommodating to my dog that throws serious temper tantrums when around needles I have only had fantastic experiences at Beach Pet. With two dogs and four cats Ive had a lot of appointments here (15-20) in the past 3 years. I honestly could not ask for more from a vet, they are an incredible practice. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet

Several years ago my Shepherd was hit by a driver who was on his phone. We took him to an emergency hospital on Lynnhaven pkwy. They charged my college age son almost $500 and sent him home with bandaids on a few shaved areas where he had "raspberries". skin scrapes. They put a cone on his head and prescribed pain meds. That night I see blood on the tile and find he has a wound that is weeping.
My son takes him back to the ER and they keep him in the back for over 2 hrs. Then when my son asks what's going on they say he has skin allergies and want to prescribe medicine. The technician hadn't heard a word said about the accident or the weeping wound. My son left and we took him to our regular veterinary practice the following day.
The vet we saw was a senior partner and very rude. She muzzled our young shepherd and was unable to speak or even look at him. I struggled to understand her as she said she would sacrifice her lunch to perform surgery on him to repair a tear in his left hip; it wasn't bleeding but draining or leaking. The surgery, and like a pushy salesman we had to decide that very minute, was over $800.
I told her we didn't even know who she was (lol) and we would wait for our regular vet. So we had an appt for the next morning. That vet was Dr. Chris Imrich. He believed that the surgery was a wrong decision because too much time had passed and the skin was necrotic, meaning it the tissue had died. Never criticizing the senior vet ( a class act ), he simply stated he had a different opinion and so we began his treatment plan.
The idea was to flush the wound out several times a day with sterile water and keep him on antibiotics until the wound began to heal. We went to see Dr. Chris every other day so he could cut off the necrotic tissue and he was more than fair in his fees. The wound, once fully exposed after his hair was trimmed away, was ghastly and quite long- about 18-20" in length.
After a couple of weeks it began to heal and we tapered our visits down to finally be released from veterinary care. It was a scary experience but Dr. Chris was great. He left that practice and we had no idea where he went. So for 2 years we took Auggie to Acredale but continued to look for other vets. Imagine my delight to see Dr. Chris in the photo for Beach Pet! Auggie has been put on some awful prescription food at $100 a bag and it wasn't helping him, so I made an appointment with Beach Pet and had all his records moved. Dr. Chris discovered Auggie had a thyroid issue and prescribed him appropriate and affordable medicine. Auggie began to eat regular food and lose weight and his hair grew back.it was the second time Dr. Chris had come to our rescue.
The staff are all great people too! They seem to love our animals as we do and the pets know this. I saw another vet there for daughter's adopted senior terrier pup who had bad teeth. She couldn't afford the dental work at beach pet but the vet helped her with recommendations for cheap dental work. They're just a pet owner's dream team! Thanks Beach Pet!

They took very good care of my Bella all the way up to her final moments. Nothing will ever be enough to repay them for their kindness. They went above and beyond to do as much as they could for her. Bella quietly passed in the comfort of her home surrounded by all who loved her, all thanks to the efforts made by this hospital. I will be forever grateful. Thankyou,

My cat Azumi was ill and considering her age and our finances I was worried they'd tell me we had to put her to sleep. My last two rescues has similar symptoms and suffered. I dropped off newspapers and the front desk woman was grateful they use them for cleanup in pet crates This was my first visit and it was a bit of a wait very busy day. However we were greeted immediately and my Azumi was well cared for, without the pushy salesman type of vet attitude.
He was very sweet to Azumi as was the staff and she got testing, meds and has recovered. I was both relieved at the pricing and swift service once we got in the room. We loved the full size fish tank that appeared well cared for. I will definitely return, my only complaint is it's an awkward traffic pattern but they cant control that the service and pricing make up for it. 5 stars!

I agree with Jessica G regarding: VET being MONEY HUNGRY. I, like most pet owners, love my pet-at any expense. I found that Beach Pet took full advantage of the love that I have for my furkid, and made up charges as they went along. Additionally, others have commented on the rude office staff. Its all true folks. My dog is in a lot of pain, and I was MORTIFIED by the rude front desk person when I first attempted to make an appointment.
From there I should have known better than to actually go in.while on the phone - I asked to speak with her supervisor in an effort to help my dog, and we all know what happened when the supervisor came to the phone, fully equipped with one side of the story, she did not have one nice thing to provide in an effort to help my sick pooch. Wanna get ripped off and be treated poorly? GO here.

I take all my pets to Beach Pet Hospital because they have always gone above and beyond. It's clear the veterinarians and staff really love what they do and care as much about the well being of my pets as they do their own. I recently had to part with my best buddy Huckleberry, my cat of 16 years. Dr. Back and the staff went out of their way to make the process less painful.
