I've been taking my cats to Frederick Cat Vet for over 10 years and they are wonderful. I'm leaving this review because Dr. Wolkind went above and beyond to help our 3.5 year old cat who was diagnosed with cancer. It was the week of Christmas and because of her we were able to get a diagnosis far quicker than we might have. We wound up doing radiation treatment at a different practice that has an oncologist but Frederick Cat Vet staff was very helpful every time I called trying to locate various supplies for tube feeding and for medications. They were also great a few years back when we had to put one of our cats down due to kidneys shutting down.

The staff is awesome. Really took care of our new little kitten, and he was not even afraid. He came actually enjoyed the visit, came home happy, and we came home informed! Good experience!

I have a cat that has chronic constipation issues. Dr. Wolkind suggested laser treatments which I didn't even know could be done for this issue and it was very helpful!

Wonderful place! They accurately diagnosed and treated my cat Keekers after I had taken her to the Opossumtown vet multiple times.

Knowledgeable, compassionate and consoling! We had one cat receive cyst surgery and the other cat had to be put down. The latter was difficult as Hercules was a precious cat to us. Thank doctors and staff.

They refuse to help any new cats. If your cat has never been examined by them before they are not "accepting new clients." I have never been turned away by any vet before until now.

Frederick Cat Vet is the best vet practice in this area. They only see cats, but they care about cats. The only service they won't preform is removing a cat's nails, that doesn't bother me in the least Owen is afraid to go outside. If you're looking to have your cat's nails removed go elsewhere, if you want a vet who cares about your kitty call for an appointment and check them out.

I have used Frederick Cat Vet for years! My old cat loved them and they were incredibly sweet when we had to put her down due to pain. Our new cat loves them as well. Normally he has to be sedated but here he doesn't! They are very thorough and honest about what is needed.

Disappointed in this vet office. I took my cat here in January who had issues with urinary tract infections. I thought I found a wonderful new vet when they gave him a lengthy check over and listened about his history and his previous vet. I was sent home with medication in case he showed signs of another infection and told i didn't need to do regular checkups like i did with my previous vet.

I found that strange, that a cat with health issues wouldn't need at least quarterly checkups but my wallet found it nice. In july my cat showed signs of an infection so i treated his food with the medication, i called to try and get him an appointment while i was gone or for when i csme back but was told they couldn't get me in and i was welcome to take him somewhere else!

Upon returning from vacation i found him almost dead and ended up that evening having to put my best friend asleep for forever. They said it was due to acute renial failure which could have been caused from the medication or could have been happening to him for months or years. It says when you Google treatment for urinary tract infections in cats that they should be seen by a vet and have bloodwork done along with urine samples, x rays, and so on.

Why wasn't this done for my cat when i brought him there for the first time as a new patient while showing signs of an infection? I called and asked for his file to be looked at and they couldn't tell me when he last had bloodwork done. Meanwhile Banfield does this routinely. Maybe his life could have been saved, my heart wouldn't have been broken and my best friend would be here beside me.

Why did it take him to die for me to learn that he needed routine bloodwork at the least? If you don't want to ask yourself these questions after losing your beloved friend then educate yourself and dont trust that this vet office will tell you everything you need to know.

Very Disappointed! My cat is sick and I searched the web all weekend long to figure out what could be wrong. Well, my search lead me here to grand reviews about how wonderful this cat vet is. How they understand cats and take the time to listen to you, the owner. So, my hopes were high.and I called first this this morning, Monday July 20, 2020 only to hear, " Have you been here before.well we are not taking new patients." Ok so I guess my cat is going to DIE!

Thank you for being so kind. NOT! Thank you for even listening to what was wrong before you Got Rid Of Me! I don't care what any reviews say. If any doctor turns away a patient, two legged or four legged, you are not someone I would want my family or friends going to.

The vets and staff take wonderful care of my cats. My Baxter has diabetes and allergies and therefore needs a lot of care. He gets that at Frederick Cat Vet. Today the Vet Tech Eleanor texted me a photo of Baxter while he was being examined! That was so kind of her since I couldn't go in due to social distancing. I trust them with my cats.

I have been taking my two cats to Frederick Cat Vet since 2006. I would not consider taking them anywhere else. I love the fact that it is feline exclusive. The atmosphere is very cat friendly and calming. I find the entire staff to be caring, compassionate and knowledgeable. The vets are very thorough in their examinations and take their time to listen. I consider their pricing to be very fair. I plan on using this Vet practice for as long as I have cats.

THANK YOU to Frederick Cat Vet! After repeated unsuccessful treatments elsewhere, Dr. Wolkind has helped Big Kitty with his terrible ear problems. I love that she is committed to hanging in there to resolve BK's chronic, icky issues. Also, they have a cat ENT available to step in, if necessary. All the staff are kind and helpful. The facility is clean and lovely. The services are diverse. The prices are reasonable. Next time I need to board either of my kitties, they will definitely be well-cared for at Frederick Cat Vet!

I used this vet a few years ago for my kitten. I've been meaning to write this review for a while. While they are friendly and have an awesome atmosphere for cats I never came back. They were too expensive, there are plenty of local vets who give just as great care. The lady that examined my cat (who I picked up as a stray) had filthy ears which I left dirty in case he has mites so the vet could check.

She told me she would clean them, I said ok thinking it was part of the exam. She failed to mention that she was going to charge me $30 to do so while not entirely cleaning them. I went to another vet who didn't charge me anything extra to do that (I had to follow up with them to handle the mite issue). I also groom dogs/cats so I could have done it myself and actually gotten it COMPLETELY clean. Sorry but $30 for ear cleaning is ridiculous. So if money means nothing to you and you like paying more than you need I recommend you go here.

I went here for my first time. I thought the vet was very fair and honest. She was very thorough with our two cats examinations. I feel comfortable going back to them. This team really cares about what they do.

Began going to Frederick Cat Vet after encountering 1 month+ waits for dental appointments at our usual vet. Wish I had known about them years ago. Have now been dealing with them for over year. Both veterinarians could not be more thorough, knowledgeable or compassionate. All of the staff without exception are sweet, kind & caring. Appointments can be obtained fairly quickly.

Once there for an appointment our cats have been seen right away. No long 30-40 minute wait in the waiting room like another local clinic we used to deal with. All questions are answered to my full satisfaction. I highly recommend this vet clinic.

I bring all three of my cats to Fredercik Cat Vet and I absolutely love this office. They are friendly and informative so I am always in the loop regarding any treatment my furbabies may need. The atmosphere is obviously cat friendly, but I notice that even my grumpy kitty seems less tense and settles down quickly when she has to go to appointments.

They are always upfront about costs and offer payment plans if needed. I also like that they use appointment reminders and are quick to respond to email. My cats are part of my family and I am very particular about their care so it takes a lot to impress me when it comes to their needs. I recommend this office to everyone and I am very happy with the service and care they take to make each visit confortable for my kitties.

The staff and doc are wonderful people! We called last minute our 12 year old had a canine that was infected and went undetected until this morning. They got us in today and fixed our beloved Trixie. The doctor went as far as giving us his cell #. In case anything happens over the weekend. Wow! I love dedication. I highly recommend Frederick Cat Vet

We only go here and have for years because we want people that genuinely share our concern for our cats. We have had 7 cats that have been treated here over the years. They always have referred us to other quality specialists for specific health problems (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, root canal and capping a broken fang, etc.) they could not address in house.

I also like that this is a cat specific place. Other places had failed to diagnose a simple issue (irritable bowel syndrome) with one of our cats that they quickly diagnosed and prescribed treatment (prednisone). One of the staff will be visiting us at home today to send on one of our poor boys; he's in late stage congestive heart failure. He never liked leaving the house.

I love this vet. My cat has had cancer for over a year and we have been to four vets for her. Finally, I found someone who really understands cats. It makes a huge difference. My cat was immediately more comfortable at the office and was allowed to walk around in the exam room. The owner, Dr. Karg, was the first vet to be really upfront with me about what is going on with my cat's illness.

He was completely honest about what to expect and had approaches that were more cat friendly, like a shot instead of pills. In case you've ever had to pill your cat, omg. This office also has a cat hotel upstairs and emergency home visits.

I would highly recommend Frederick Cat Vet. Our cat had a terminal illness and our family found Dr. Karg, Dr. Wolkind and the entire staff to be caring and respectful through a very difficult time. All who worked there are excellent in patience, helpful, follow-up and informative re options. Thank you to all at the Frederick Cat Vet we appreciate everything they have done for our family.

We have a very "spirited" cat who is not the easiest to treat. The vet was very thorough with the exam, not rushed, and took the time to explain everything to us. The office person is very friendly and the vets take the time to answer your call. It's a bit out of the way depending on what side of town you live on, but it's worth the trip.

Not only do I love the Frederick Cat Vet but so does my cat, Cuckoo. Dr. Karg is always so kind and gentile with him. We just met Dr. Wolkind & cuckoo was actually purring in the office after he met her! The staff here are friendly, compassionate people and they've proven to be knowledgeable also. They emailed me to check up on him after he injured his paw and they all refer to your pets by their names! My healthy cat & I love these guys!
