My Dog can be difficult because he is very timid. His first day was tough but the Animal Den gave him the benefit of the doubt and by the end of his stay I was told he was a different dog. I appreciate the Animal Den for taking their time with him and making sure he was safe. It is always difficult leaving our pets for a length of time especially when they are used to being around certain people. I will always use the Animal Den when they have availability.

We have begun brining our pup to Animal Den for daycare. I have been very impressed and comforted with the thoroughness of the vetting. All dogs are carefully screened for health and behavioral checks. This provides reassurance that my dog will be in a safe environment while we are at work. Additionally, we received a very comprehensive assessment of our dog's first day. While the day went well, the assessment offered some suggestions for things to work on at home to help with our dog's obedience, which is great. Highly recommended!

Condescending desk clerk who has an overwhelmingly fake customer service voice, it was obvious she could care less about my situation. It seems she didn't want to help me and was unwilling but I insisted she ask her manager to get approval for me. I needed an emergency for my Chihuahua and couldn't find a sitter, was willing to pay anything for her to have a stay.
Apparently they don't accept handwritten vaccines from other countries, I had gone to a very reputable and licensed veterinarian in Sinaloa and she told me they wouldn't accept her vaccine records because of that, her tone made it seem as if I was trying to pass forged documents. Oddly enough she had a visit at VCA Carmichael before that and they accepted her vaccines just fine, the girl who answered the phone there immediately understood me and was willing to speak the veterinarian to vouch for my dogs vaccines.

My poor dog did not have a good experience here. They take too many dogs at once and the service is significantly negatively impacted by this. They blamed my well behaved pup for the stress behaviors she showed instead of on their own decision to overcrowd the room with other stressed out dogs. I purchased a package but when they reported my dog was behaving in a stressed manner, they would not credit back the remaining unused visits.
I asked if they would work with me to help her get used to the environment since they wouldn't credit back unused visits from the substantial package, but was told "She likely won't learn to like this environment, this is just what she is." This was bad business, I do not recommend.

My pet is a almost 8 year old boxer, who was attacked by a pitbull at 4 months old. (This dog broke through our fence and attacked her in our yard) I relayed this info to them & also told them my boxer can be snappy when she gets overwhelmed in crowds. Once she becomes over stimulated she gets anxious and if dogs get near her she will snap, not aggressively but will let others know she's done playing.
Instead of removing her from the scene they left her because as manager stated "wanted to give her a chance" and another dog reacted to her snap and attacked her. After telling them how she responds, her queues of when she's done playing, they still didn't do their obligation which resulted to my pet being attacked. Both pets were ok but mine has stage 3 kidney disease and only has one kidney.
Any trauma can increase her chances of losing her only healthy kidney. They were nice and accommodating at first and were planning to give us a military discount for boarding for 2 weeks, but after this Incident with her evaluation, even after me explaining to them how my pet is, they still tried to put the blame on my dog. I wouldn't recommend anyone with an anxious pet to stay here/ or day care here.
We found another boarding care in Dixon and I explained the situation to Blue Ridge Kennel, who is also a trainer, they stated the same thing I told the manager of animal den, "if she was a pup who was attacked previously, it's normal for them to be snappy, but she should have been removed from the scene to prevent anything further" which animal den failed to do. Hope this helps someone else with an anxious pet!

Great day camp experience! Staff are well-trained and clearly attentive to monitoring dog behaviors, keeping things safe. Facilities seem clean (dog smelled good afterwards, always a plus) and I love the multiple indoor and outdoor play areas, including a little pool they can use. Good availability, nice central location, good value. They also give a detailed report card and some cute pics as well. Will be using their boarding facilities in the future too!

I had a boarding evaluation at The Local Bark and a day at Doggy Daycare at Animal Den and am so happy with the service I received at both locations! Everyone was friendly and professional and treated my dog with wonderful kindness and care. Booking my dog's boarding stay over the phone was very easy and all of my questions were answered. Will definitely recommend!
