You may send your tax deductible donation via PayPal or US Mail. CARE is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code: EIN 77-0285750. Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Check with your employer to see if they are willing to match your donation to C.A.R.E.
C.A.R.E.'s mission is to find good, permanent homes for dogs that were abandoned, relinquished, or never reclaimed. Founded in 1987, the Companion Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) is a nonprofit, all volunteer, animal rescue organization based in Santa Clara County. We accept owner-relinquished dogs as well as abandoned, abused, or otherwise-neglected puppies and dogs that would otherwise face uncertain futures working with Bay Area shelters.
Dogs that are brought into the CARE foster program typically come from local animal shelters or owner surrender situations. Dogs live in a foster home where they get love, attention, and socialization. Our fosters work on house training, crate training, and basic obedience training. The dogs are given time to adjust to a home environment before they are adopted into their new home.

I found an old senior Chihuahua blind, likely deaf, with no teeth to hold his little tongue in his mouth, that was in parking lot of a large complex that had a lot of traffic in and out. I am sorry that people have so little compassion for these creations of God. The Care center was who I called 1st the following morning and I was greeted by a good person who explained a chip would be looked for and he would be properly cared for regardless.
There are very few IF ANY places like this in San Mateo County where I live, but now I know this place, and won't forget about the understanding I saw when others were in line to "turn in" lost dogs and cats that they had found. I am so grateful for this place.
