Great staff. They opened up a last minute wash for our new foster who had just been cleared for her first bath. They were surprised when we were out in 35 minutes, but when I explained the situation and that she was too scared for a long bath they gave her lots of hugs and treats. Great experience!

Time to go back to my old shop. A few months back, The Wash Dog ended appointment free nail trims on the weekend. They cited large demand for services, so they stopped doing it. Odd, but OK. Their new signage said come by Monday - Friday for appointment free nail trims. Today, a Monday, I stopped by with my dog for an appointment free nail trim. I was advised by the lady at the counter that "I have a gal coming in tomorrow (Tuesday) to do these all day, " and implied that in a shop full of staff, no one would be interested in doing an appointment free nail trim at that time.

She asked I return tomorrow. Thanks, but no. I make the effort to pack my dog up and come to The Wash Dog only to be turned away during their scheduled and posted drop in hours. This plus recent pricing changes make me think it's time to travel much further to my old place. They never never once turned me away.

I checked their hours on Google and their website. I saw they request no walk-ins an hour prior to closing which makes sense - they need time to clean. So showed up at 6pm and was surprised to be told abruptly that they were closing. I told her the website listed closing as 7:30 and she did offer to let me in which was nice. But I had two dogs and didn't want to be that person keeping everyone late.

Plus they're border collies and they spend heaps of time on a farm and they're not a ten minute bath. It looked really nice: spacious and clean. Maybe they have private rooms for bathing (I didn't get to see!) but not a good first impression. I went down the road to another spot instead. I might try it again in the future, but unsure.

Thanks for your comment - I visited on Tuesday, June 14th at 6pm (the same day I wrote the review). If your hours haven't changed then I'm unsure why I was turned away.

So easy to give our pup the occasional pro clean treatment! Wash and paw scoop were great - he was so happy on pickup: "I'm clean and didn't go to the vet? I'm a happy dog."

I've been a customer of Wash Dog for years. We've washed and trimmed our dogs nails here every time we needed to for the past ~6 years. Even when they relocated to a much less convenient location for us to travel to. I recently went by on a Sunday with my toddler to get a wash & nail trim - which they no longer do on the weekends (which is fine but we didn't learn about it until we saw the sign posted at the entryway).

We arrived at 4:36 and were also told we couldn't do a self wash because while they "close" at 5:30 self-wash closes at 4:30. It has never taken us longer than 30 mins to wash my dog and hoping for a reasonable accommodation or an empathetic reaction at minimum I say "It is only 4:36" and the front desk person just said a stern and IDGAF "Yep!" It's hard to capture how little the person seemed to care that despite being "open" for another hour there wasn't a service we needed available to us. It completely changed our impression and we regret being loyal to the business for the past several years. We won't be going back.

Nice environment for do it yourself dog washing, always cleaned up and ready. Friendly staff! There are lots of stalls so rarely a wait, they also do grooming but I've bet l've never utilized it.

A great spot if you have a dirty dog to wash! Nice tubs, warm water, really friendly staff, all the soap you can use and easy to do multiple dogs. Would definitely recommend if you don't want to dirty your own house. The only negative I would say is they don't provide conditioner and I don't love the included shampoo but only $3 to upgrade to a better odor control one.

Great place to wash you fur kid(s). $25 for the first, $5 for an additional fur child. Extremely friendly staff. Pet wash came with an apron which was thin but functional. All shampoo, conditioner, towel, ear cleaner, dryer and all that were included. One thing I have to include is the blower. If you have a long haired dog this is the blower you need. I was able to dry my Bernadoodle FULLY. That never happens.

Terrific! Their grooming service can't be beat: I had an appointment and the groomer was ready for me. I was told grooming would take 2 hours and it did - almost to the minute. My shy, sensitive dog was handled with care and perfectly groomed. The fee is very reasonable. Moreover, the personnel treated both my dog and me like family members and dealt with my temporary handicap with extreme kindness - going way beyond what anyone could ask for. This business rocks!

The team here is incredible. I only dropped by occasionally to get my dog's nails trimmed and they have always done an amazing job. It's clear that they care about dogs, they even remembered Charlie's name (my dog). My pup is 80+ pounds and although friendly, he moves quite a bit since he dislikes the process so I'm glad it is speedy here. Unfortunately I moved, but I would highly recommend anyone in the area to stop by.

We love the wash dog. They almost always do excellent work. We recently had a poor experience there, but the people listened and cared and checked in and did what they could to rectify it. If a place makes a mistake, but does everything they can to fix it, that's pretty great service. I also really appreciate the self washing stations. Makes it easy to do a grooming session or two, myself, in between formal grooming sessions.

We had a wonderful experience for our first time at the Wash Dog. We recently moved to the area and heard great things about the grooming here. We have two, small, older dogs that were in dire need of haircuts. The staff were kind and professional. They took the time to understand what we were hoping for and our dogs' individual needs. The facility was clean and quiet.

Most importantly though, our anxious little guys came out with their tails wagging and the best haircuts they have ever had. We absolutely will be using them as our regular groomer from here on out!

Staff were very friendly and I love the industrial-grade tubs you can put your dog in. Luna got a very thorough cleaning and there was plenty of towels and shampoo available. Wish we had a place like this in Canada.

We have had a really tough time getting our pups nails trimmed. Our poor dog had a horrible experience at Petco so we started taking her to the vet where they pulled out her entire nail! This left our dog traumatized and she hates getting her nails clipped. The vet wanted us to start doubling her benadryl to get her nails trimmed. We decided to try this place after reading some of the great reviews and I am so glad we did!

We told them everything that had happened and asked if they would want us to give her benadryl before and they said they would try without. We took her in and Aiclin did her nails in 5 mins. Without being drugged. Wish we had found this place sooner. Cannot rave about this place and Aiclin enough!

Love this place, they're always super welcoming. I love that nail dremel/trims are walk in. I hear they do an excellent job at grooming & everytime I walk in there's so many long haired pups getting attended to. I have short haired pups but def considering giving them a spa day here. My pup is VERY timid & is dog reactive but when she comes in here she's always so well attended that she's more focused on what's going on than her surroundings, plus you guys actually take off all the nail that needs to be trimmed. All other places always leave them super long still. Thank you for always taking care of my pup :-

Great place to wash your little bear! Our doggy isn't the most friendly with other dogs so we are always a little worried using a place like this. But the staff there helped us by letting us prepay and then waiting until the coast was clear so she could get to her private bath stall. Showers were very nice, good water pressure, and they also provide shampoo, towels, dryers, and stuff to clean her ears. Not in Seattle a lot but we would for sure use this place again to wash our little bear.

Pup hates water. Hates the comb. Hates the blow dryer. Hates scissors. They had self service stations, but I opted for their in house grooming. They charged me LESS than price advertised because they felt they can only do so much as my puppy is comfortable and thus believed the service didn't match the price. Dude came out smelling like lavender oatmeal and hair cut from head to toe including around the legs (dogs hate their legs touched), anal glands/genitals, and overall body length.

They finished early and let me know I can come in sooner. In and out in less than 1.5 hours. When finished the groomer came out and gave a breakdown of what's done, what could be done more, and what to expect next time. I don't know why she charged me less, but hey, that's stellar customer service in my book. Keep in mind, covid has made scheduling EXTREMELY difficult so call in advance.

We love the wash dog! Everyone is so friendly and really seems to care about our puppy. Aiclin is the absolute best and I almost want to keep that a secret - that's how good she is. Not only is she extremely sweet to us and our puppy, she asks us and listens to what we want. We've gotten our dog washed here, used the stalls to wash, and of course gotten him groomed with Aiclin. This is an amazing and friendly establishment which is clearly no secret given how packed it always is.

The best place to ever take your dog for grooming and washing. I own a Shiba and they can be fairly challenging to groom. If you are not aware of this dog breed, be sure to google the Shiba scream because they will absolutely let you know they hate whatever it is you are doing (like doing their nails). If you are looking for a service that not only loves your dog like you do, but puts in the dedication to making sure your dog is safe and comfortable, then congratulations, you found it.

You found The Wash Dog. So go on, close google maps, close yelp, close all those facebook groups you've asked around in. It's over. You don't have to stress out anymore. You have found The Wash Dog. They will treat your dog like the royalty they are. And they know how to groom Shibas. It's a godsend. The only thing I wish was better was that they were still in walking distance to me. Their new location isn't bad but I can't see them as often as I used to.

The Wash Dog is amazing! Our dog absolutely hates to get his nails done and the staff here are so great! They handle his craziness with so much professionalism and even make me feel better! They even were able to use the dremel which I've never even been able to get close to him with. I highly recommend them!

They have moved to White Center now, to a much bigger space. I've been going here for many years over two cocker spaniels to get them groomed and they always do a good job. My current dog, Charlie, is very grumpy and scared of everything, but they've been able to work with him very well. Keep in mind that this is not a place you spontaneously get into - it can take 6-8 weeks for a grooming appointment. But they have always kept their appointment and are being very serious about COVID-19 protocols.

They're now located on 16th ave in White Center. I love The Wash Dog! Everyone who works there is so kind and friendly. They are taking COVID precautions very seriously, which I appreciate. Every time my dog goes there for a grooming, I am so pleased with the outcome and price. Thank you for your great service and kindness.

Busy on the weekends! You can't blame them for that though. : I took my pug in for a nail trim. Reasonable prices. All the staff were super nice and it went smoothly even though he can be very skittish about his little feets.

If I could give you zero stars I would. The first time I took my dog here to get his nails clipped, I gave you a pass. You missed 3 nails and told my sitter that his nails were already too short. I went to the humane society a week later to get our dog fixed, and they said they should be much shorter. Today, my sitter takes our dog again to get his nails clipped and are you kidding me, you jerks asked her to hold him down while you clipped his nails.

This is NOT why people take to get their dogs nails clipped by a "professional." It was a horrible experience for her, and the pup. You should see this dogs nails. I've never seen such a butchered job. Maybe youre great at washing dogs, I'll give you that. But your clients should know Rover offers $40 flat rate for someone to come to your home, they bathe the dog, clip their nails, give them an expression and clean their ears. Use Rover. Not this place.

My dog needed this! I have a big fluffy chow chow and I used to be able to bathe him at home in our bathtub when he was a puppy; however, he just got too big (clogging the drains with all his fair, not staying still, etc.) so we started taking him to a professional groomer. Groomers are nice if you can find one who can work with your dog breed. Chow chows are aggressive and unfortunately the groomer who worked on our dog for years left and we weren't able to find a groomer that my dog was cool with.

Then we discovered the Wash Dog a couple weeks ago and it was LIFE CHANGING! The set up was everything we needed (huge tub, soaps, dryer, scrubs, harness, etc.) and my dog was surprisingly very calm through it all. Bathing my dog became SO EASY and I didn't have to worry about the mess; the last time I bathed my dog at home, I spent a good hour just cleaning the hair out of the bathroom.

Also $20 per session is such a deal, definitely beats the $100 at a groomer. It takes some time/effort to bathe your dog, but it's such a bonding experience not to sound corny or anything!

I'm pretty picky about my dog's haircut and the first groomer we tried after moving to Seattle didn't do a great job. He was there for over 4 hours, I paid about $90 and his "beard" and tail trim were really uneven. I read the great yelp reviews and they actually had a Saturday appointment which is like almost impossible when the weather starts getting warmer.

Rose was fantastic and asked me great questions about what I was looking for and the specifics of how I wanted my dogs face hair cut. We were completely on the same page about what hair to leave and what to get rid of. She had a great calm energy so I felt super comfortable leaving my pup in her capable hands. I picked him up about 1.5 hours later which was great!

No extended cage time, which I hate. My pup looked (and smelled) awesome. His beard trim was on point, his body was shaved down just like I wanted, but she left his cute little ears and tail which is so much of his personality. He was also happy and not over exhausted like he gets after too much cage time. This will be my go to place from now on and Rose has a furever customer!

I have a corgi and an american eskimo. Both puppies have double coats of fur so they shed a lot. Bringing my puppies here means that I don't have to worry about clogging my bathtub with puppy hair! Lisa and her team at the Wash Dog are super stars! They have self wash stations with scentless allergen free shampoo, towels, brushes, ear cleaning solution, cotton swabs and anything else you can think of to wash your puppies.

If you need any additional material, just mention it to the staff and they'll happily provide you with more supplies. Self wash is normally $20, but they have $17 on Mondays and a two for one deal on Tuesdays. Nail trims are $10 and the staff are super caring and attentive to your dog's needs. They also have unlimited treats for your dogs and dog cologne for during and after their bath!

They also do a frequent washer program in which your 11th wash is free (buy 10 get one free). You just have to remind them to check your status. One thing I recommend is to call ahead before coming in for a self wash just to make sure they have a stall available as there's only about 4-5 stalls in the facility.

I have a Siberian husky and he is the toughest dog to keep clean and with reasonable levels of fur. The Wash Dog makes him look so good! I have no idea how they can blow so much undercoat off but they are truly great at it. Beyond that they are super friendly and their pricing is very reasonable for the high level job they do. Great spot to get your dog groomed in West Seattle.
