Although the State of MA does not yet have a procedure for licensing, regulating, or inspecting dog daycare facilities, we anticipate that there will be rules in place soon. We practice in accordance with regulations already in place in many states and follow standard procedures suggested by the professional daycare associations that we belong to.
Our canine clients love daycare and boarding at South Paws - you can tell by the way they pull their parents from the parking lot and through the front door. They can't wait to romp and play with their friends. Parents love South Paws too! They know while they are busy away for the day or traveling, their furry kid is happier and healthier because of the many benefits that doggie daycare provides. South Paws is a place for your dog to do what dogs do best: romp, fetch, sniff around, nap, and play nicely with other friendly dogs.
Already a Daycare Dog and going away sometime soon? We offer our existing clients dog boarding! Bring your dog to South Paws and rest assured that they are having just as much (or more!) fun as you are on your vacation. We want to make your dog's time away from home as pleasant as possible. In fact, we want them to enjoy it when mom and dad leave town!

I am so glad we started taking our dog to South Paws! Within the first week of bringing our dog here, the staff knew her name and recognized us. They regularly give us updates about how Bola is doing and take excellent care of the dogs. Their facility is always spotless and immaculate. We recently did Bola's first boarding experience with South Paws and were so happy to see her tail wagging on their webcams! We completely trust their quality of care and feel more comfortable now boarding Bola if we need to kennel her while we're away. Excellent customer service!

Our puppy, Maisie, has been going to South Paws for the past couple of months and we couldn't be happier. The facility is SUPER clean and the staff all seem to adore dogs. When we pick Maisie up, she runs the other way because she doesn't want to leave! We're thrilled that Maisie loves her daycare and is getting much-needed socialization with other pups. Oh, and this place has web cams so you can see what mischief your dog is getting into during the day without you!

I have been leaving my overgrown baby, Bubba, here for a few months now and am so very happy with the service and staff! The facility is beautiful, clean and safe. The staff are friendly, well trained and awesome with the dogs. My baby always comes home very happy and very tired from a wonderful day of play with his buddies! I know it's difficult to find a place you can trust when it comes to your fur-baby and I was very hesitant at first but after the first visit any concern or worry I had was distinguished.
I especially like the fact that they have web cams where I can check up on my baby throughout the day. This also speaks volumes in that they have nothing to hide! I highly recommend this place for your fur baby!

Awful. They don't feed the dogs. I tried giving them food for my puppies and they said they don't feed the dogs there. Some are there from 6am till 6pm! Not to mention a lot are puppies and need to eat every so often! They just don't want to clean the poop. Another thing, you can only watch your dog on camera from 10-3. When I asked why that is and why not from 6-6, they said some bogus excuse stating it was because other business were "getting mad " because their employees were watching their dogs on the computers all day.
First of all, other business's wouldn't and couldn't tell them they have to change their hours. They would tell their employees they're no longer allowed to watch their dogs all day. They probably stick the dogs in cages from 6-10 then from 3-6. They were so rude when I walked in too. They knew this was my first time dropping off my puppies that I love so much and she took my Maltese right out of my hands before I could ever say goodbye to him and kiss him. I do not recommend this place at all. And I'm not a picky person whatsoever.

I absolutely love South Paws! My two labs having been going to south paws for about 8 years and they love every bit of it. The excited whine as we pull into the parking lot proves how much they love going there. I was a scared dog mom dropping them off 8 years ago when they were puppies and the staff assured me they would be fine and welcomed the phone call in the middle of the day when I called to check in on them.
Clearly 8 years later I know they are in great hands with a fabulous staff of friendly, dog loving ladies. The best part is I can check out the doggie web cam throughout the day. And even better is that the pups are pooped when they come home!

I couldn't ask for a better place for my dogs to socialize and play with other pups. My eight-year-old Yorkipoo has been a South Paws "kid" since he was five, and my two-year-old Peke-a-poo since he was old enough {four months, maybe?}. My dogs are my little fur babies; it's not even normal how obsessed I am with them. The first day I brought my older dog to daycare, I was so nervous ~ I had to stop myself from calling to check in every ten minutes! Karen spent a good amount of time on the phone with me beforehand, though, answering all my questions, and has been such a great resource ever since then, answering all my ridiculous dog-related questions.
The dogs are separated by size into a big dog room and a little dog room, which is reassuring for me with my two little munchkins. There are also webcams set up in the rooms so you can check in on your pup during the day. Definitely, definitely recommend South Paws!

This place isn't what it claims to be.a daycare. There isn't a care put into the dogs at this place. First and foremost, the back room where the dogs stay during the day is closed off from the public, so no one other than the employees at the daycare can see into the room. No one knows if it's actually air conditioned or if it's clean back there.
One would think if there's nothing to hide then do away with the wall that separates the front desk and the back room. Several times I have noticed scabs all over my dog's face and body. No one at the daycare can explain why or how the scabs got there. In one instance, I noticed a scab in my dog's ear and waited several days for an explanation, but when I didn't hear anything I brought it up to Karen in which she responded, oh yeah, I was going to tell you about that, but I forgot.
Her job is to look after my dog and to make sure he was safe; clearly his condition was not her priority. I often wonder if she or anyone really is there with the dogs during the day. I think once all dogs are in at daycare, she and her employees leave the dogs unattended, which explains why she cannot explain several injuries to my dog. The last straw was an injured back.my dog couldn't even climb stairs for a month.
When I mentioned that I was going to take my dog to the vet, Karen said that I was crazy to take my dog to the vet. She said it would heal on its own. Why would you say "crazy" to a paying customer? We were no longer customers after that. If any this sounds familiar, please don't doubt your intuitions about this place. We learned the hard way.

South Paws Doggie Day Care is a warm and welcoming place for your pooch. I have to disclaim that I've known the owner, Karen Shea Price, since we met in kindergarten. This only works in her favor, though, because in my entire life I haven't met too many people who have consistently loved animals as much as she has. When I got back in touch with her last year and learned this is what she does for a living, I thought, "Perfect!" When I visited South Paws this summer, I was impressed with the surroundings and recommended it to my mother who has a new dog and also to a couple of co-workers who live/summer on the South Shore.
South Paws is very clean and bright and the dogs are very well-supervised. There are even web-cams for you to check in on your pup! Not to worry, though, Karen is infinitely trustworthy, and she and her staff will take as much care of your dog as you do. If you're on your way to Cape Cod or the South Shore, this is the perfect place for your dog to spend the day while you're at the beach. Note, you must complete an application for your dog in advance and there is no boarding overnight.
