Amazing store with amazing people working there ready to help. Has what you need. Actually sells pets unlike Petco. This is my new pet store, thank you for being awesome.

Lovely workers and everyone is eager to help. Every animal I've seen in there is better then petco ever has and their fish are amazing!

An amazing selection of fresh water fish and as a huge bonus, a staff that actually knows about fish. They have a great selection of other critters too. Pay them a visit, you may end up with some Mudfish, water dogs, Axolotls etc They also sell live crickets and worms.

Great local pet shop with some locally bred fish. Don't shop here if you're looking for a deal you won't find it (super expensive) and they don't price match either.

I have been a shopper at this establishment for many years. Literally spent thousands of dollars. Generally they honor several days warranty when you purchase fish. I will never ever shop at this place again in my life and I will advise anybody and everybody that I know not to participate in purchasing anything from this establishment. Sunday I went there and the little boy who was working at the counter refused to return to dead Fish I spent nearly 65.00 Purchasing less than 12 hours prior.

He was very rude, I did not want anything to do with hearing why I was returning this dead fish that I have spent so much money on. I emailed this establishment and have had no response. Some professionals! I can take my business elsewhere where they will service customers who are valuable like myself

The Pet Shop is a home grown local business that has great customer service and has grown with the community. Great place to get all of your pet needs. Even through the pandemic service is still great. With the social distancing and new regulations the friendly staff keep things moving. Always my go to for all my pet needs.

I've been a customer of The Pet Shop for at least three decades now (boy, I'm getting old when I refer to decades), starting at their Maui Mall location. Every trip to Maui Mall, I'd head to the Pet Shop to check out their small animals and especially fish. Since they've moved to their new location, I haven't visited as often but am still able to pick up fish, plants, or fish food when I need it. They have a nice selection of freshwater fish and plants but I wish they also carried saltwater fish. They also have small animals, such as guinea pigs, rabbits, and birds.

Almost as long as I have been alive, The Pet Shop has been providing the best product and customer service available to pet owners, and animal aficionados alike. Growing up on Maui, trips to the Maui Mall were never complete with out pausing to fawn over and covet the adorable kittens, bunnies, hamsters, and the like, that were displayed in their original store location windows.

My very first cat was purchased here many years ago, the beginning of many special pets to come. At their new location, you will still find the same staff working hard to extend the very best customer service and kindness to all critters within. The longevity and loyalty of their staff is testament to excellent management and ownership. These people treat everyone like extended ohana (family.) And on a practical level, they carry top end products, with a delightful rebate system, after so many dollars spent, you are rewarded cash off future purchases, which we redeem often. There is no other place that offers a comprehensive service like The Pet Shop. I give them my highest recommendation.

They are the most rude people especially when you call! Still ask you for your phone number and call you back and then they won't! They think the customers in the store are more important than you calling about to purchase $400 worth of stuff for your pet! So they just lost my business! I called back and asked about cat food and they had plenty of time to talk about cat food but they wouldn't go check on my dog carrier size! They said they were too busy to do that!

The staff is helpful and friendly, and I can always find what I need. I enjoy stopping by and always feel welcomed.

I took a fish in to sell on Sunday for consignment. On Monday I went in to possibly pick up a new tank and there was a sign on the tank saying today only $20. After seeing me the workers were on their headset talking and the sign was taken down. Two days later after thinking about it I wanted to talk to someone about it. My fish was sold for $160 less than agreed on.

And the reason I was given was someone told her that I wanted to dump the fish in a pond. My information was there on the consignment sheet but I was not contacted about the drop in price. Poor work ethic. Her name is jasmine and she runs the fish department. Sad to say this isn't the first time I've seen her change the price on a consignment fish without consulting the other party.

Everyone says to support local businesses. Don't order online, well why would I want to support a place that doesn't respect people in general. Thinking that they are above us. Everyone else there has been nice but I'd avoid jasmine.

Didn't know this place existed until a friend told me about it. Much closer to my home in Wailuku and plenty of parking. And a surprising wide variety of supplies for many different types of pets for a reasonable price. They also have some unique critters that are fun to look at.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they go out of their way to help. They'd put aside and save dog foods and treats for us for a week or longer until we can make the long drive to come and get them. Better prices than Petco, we love this store and like to support a small business in the community. Wouldn't you like to shop where people remember your name? Definitely yes!

Everything you can get at the big box pet store but it's from your local small town "Mom and Pop" pet store.

THE PET SHOP @70 E KAAHUMANU AVE C12 /MAUI MALL: I saw a lot of birds, interesting fish and rabbits. No cats and dogs on 04/27/15. I love watching fish but whenever I see aquarium fish, I get mixed feelings. but like going to aquariums, when I cannot get into the ocean, this is a good fix.

This is the oldest pet store on Maui. The reason is they have a great selection of pet products of the highest quality. I've done business there for over 30 years and hopefully will be going there for the next 30. The staff are helpful and friendly. Yes there is the occasional part timer that needs some customer service lessons. But they are never bad enough for me to go elsewhere.

The big box store has a lot of stuff, but I like maybe a little less stuff and know that it's good. Thank you John and Susan Guard for providing great pets and pet products for 40 years!

I was put off by this place for years because of higher prices and not-so-friendly staff. That changed today. I was helped by a very friendly & knowledgeable woman with my puppy food and their free in-house membership program. The prices are a little higher than the big box stores, but it feels great to support a local company and receive higher quality products. I'll definitely be back.

This is a wonderful pet store with a great selection of pet toys, pet foods, and supplies. They are run by a great set of people, seem very organized, have a decent amount of inventory and are very clean! There is no strange stench to the store unlike other pet stores I've been to. Some of their items do seem a little pricey, but definitely worth it when you are dealing with such a customer oriented staff. Probably the best pet shop on the island. Great selection of pet foods and accessories. Best selection of small birds (Dan's Greenhouse has great large birds and pot belly pigs) and conveniently located close to the parking lot so carrying out big bags of dog food/cat litter is cake. They've got an online 'bulletin board' where people can post pets for sale, pets in need of a home, looking for pets. etc.
