There's a place on Norwalk Boulevard that can help you with all of your pets' needs! Bloomfield Animal Hospital has been operating in Lakewood since 2011. Through years of caring for their pet patients, Dr. Arambulo and the staff at Bloomfield noticed that some of their clients were unable to tell the difference between serious health situations and lesser problems with their pets.
You can either pre-pay at our hospital in-person or you can also access the website to order your pet's prescriptions. Every medication and product listed at Our Pets RX is guaranteed by the manufacturer, as opposed to other online pharmacies. We are excited to let you know that we perform advanced surgeries and are able to accommodate soft tissue surgeries on-site!
Okay, we're here at the Bloomfield Animal Hospital to hear how bringing your pet to the vet doesn't have to be a scary process. I'm here with Dr. A, Dr. A, thanks so much for joining us today. Oh you're welcome. My pleasure! Dr. Jose Arambulo, owner. So tell us, I'm a new client, I'm scared to bring my cat or dog in.
Pre-op exam - The veterinarian conducts a physical examination to assess your pet's current health status, and determine if a surgical procedure is appropriate. If you are not a regular Bloomfield Animal Hospital client, please be sure to bring your pet's vaccine history to this appointment - they must be up to date before a surgical procedure.

I was been a loyal customer of Bloomfield Animal Hospital for a year and I must say I was disappointed. When I was moving I called the office if I could get some paper documentation for my cat so I could cross state lines. Since states require you to have proper documentation. Generally they don't care to check, but since there was a rise in covid cases I was concerned that there would be more restrictions.
I called Bloomfield Animal Hospital to schedule an appointment. The front desk informed me that she wasn't sure if they provided the service, I asked if I could make an appointment and they could get back to me if they could not. I waited, they didn't call me so I came for my appointment. When I got there only then did they inform me that "oh they don't check pet papers if you're crossing states." I can only assume they just didn't provide the service and never told me.
They just waisted my time, they had half a month to call me to tell me but they didn't. So then I could not find a different place to get the proper documentation because my move out date was so close to my appointment date. I ended up not needing the paperwork when I moved so it worked out in the end. But still, they could have informed me earlier so I could prepare with a different vet.

He's going to CHARGE YOU THOUSANDS, if he can get away with it, for THINGS YOU DONT NEED just to offer an actual solution at the last moment that he could have offered from the start, so you can pay more. He will do surgeries on your pets knowing they won't make it to make money off you. His reports? He documents everything in his favor to protect him from getting sued, and HE HAS AN INSURANCE COMPANY that can pay back the owner of the patient for things like negligence.
But the insurance company is in on it, too. They'll just read what the Dr. Puts on the notes, which of course, are written in his favor despite his disgusting, obvious greed and negligence. Have a good lawyer ready if you're going to bring your pets here because you never know when it's your turn for him to take your money just because. Honestly, he needs to get shut down. He's done this to so many people that the five star comments just look so stupid and fake. " oh my pet got their nails clipped " yeah, but did they die?

This place is no good, period. Over-priced, over-prescribed, and over-rated at one star (cannot give zero stars). Took our dog in on Friday -- they charged a total of $672 for NOTHING. We had to put our dog down this morning (Sunday). First off, the $55 "comprehensive exam" was anything but. Dr. A did not give us any concrete diagnosis. If he did examine her, he would have seen the large lesion on her tongue that was preventing her from swallowing any food or water.
We first learned of the lesion from the vet who euthanized her this morning. Dr. A completely missed it, so he prescribed all kinds of medications, including an appetite stimulant and even an antacid (my guess is that he was grasping at straws). The worst thing is -- he asked me if she had any problems with vomiting, and I said "NO". He gave me vomiting meds anyway ($28.50)! Bloomfield Animal Hospital ONLY cares about money.
The visit was a complete waste of my time and money. He KNEW that my dog was going to die. he just wanted his $$$$ first. Unnecessary tests and useless prescriptions. We will ever take another pet there again, EVER. on top of all that -- the lady who answers the phone is as cold as Minnesota in the dead of winter.

I was referred to Bloomfield by my regular vet for my cats dental work. They were very professional and caring towards my 10 year old cat. The doctor and staff were very attentive and took the time to explain what was going to be done and the after care needed for her. They even called a couple of times after she was home just to follow up on how she was doing. I would definitely switch vets if we lived closer.

I took my 10 yr old senior akita for having fallen down the steps. Turns out something much bigger is going on and I wouldn't have known if not for this place. I don't even want to say to word because I'm still hanging on to the hope that we can save him, but it regards the "big C". I'm not giving up and i can tell they are ready to support me all the way.
It made me feel so much better. They have been so kind and compassionate, especially when I broke down in the hospital. I will never bring my dog anywhere else. I just wish I had found them sooner. If you have a BIG dog.bring him there. Don't lose your time at other places.

COMPLETE RIP OFF! I am so distraught! My husband just returned from taking our dog to Bloomfield animal Hospital. They charged us over 400$ for the visit. 55$ for the exam and over 350$ in medication. My husband isn't the type to question a bill, so he just trusted and paid. SO sad that during such tough times a vet would rip off and OVER CHARGE a caring dog owner. I am going to post everywhere I can in order to warn others of this money hungry, incompetent veterinarians office. SHAME on them!

I take all three of my fur babies to them now and could not be happier with all their services! Thank you so much for saving IGGY! Danielle Alvarado

We were recommended by our regular vet to Bloomfield Hospital for specialty surgery. Our cat who is geriatric needed teeth extractions. Putting a cat the age of our son under anesthesia is complicated as older cats sometimes do not wake up. Bloomfield Hospital took every procation necessary to insure his safety. The entire time our son was seen by Bloomfield Hospital the staff was professional and very nice. Dr.
A was excellent and explained everything thoroughly. We are very happy we were recommended to see Dr. A for the procedure. It was clear they take great care of their patients and we would take our son back to be in their care without hesitation.

We love the service here at Bloomfield Animal Hospital! Dr. Arambulo is an amazing vet, who is very knowledgeable and always helps guides us in making the correct decision for our dog. He has been caring for our dog for years now and every experience has been great! Pricing is fair since he always goes beyond & checks everything and not only the problem we may come in for to help prevent any future problems, which we appreciate very much!
Even during this pandemic, the appointment process has taken all precautions and is very efficient. We feel very safe leaving our dog in the hands of the Bloomfield animal hospital's nice staff and doctor.

Too much to type out. This place does not have animal Heath as it's priority. Their focus is on making money. My dog has been since off and on ever since they told me to stop feeding her Blue Buffalo. Dr. A is an armature Practioner. My dog was having diarrhea, he thought it could be viral or bacterial, he suggested anti-diarrhea meds. Instead I told him, he needs to take a stool sample to test if he suspect microbs.
Then we find give meds. Why stop her from passing the microbs and just clog her up with them. She's been producing frothy vomiting episodically, as a result of him telling to take her off one diet to the next. I just starting her in a bag of food, suppose to be specific for Sensitive tummy that he suggested because the chicken, rice and nutriablend he wasn't in favor for, now she's throwing up again. Do not waste your time and Money here. Our pets are like family. Choosing a vet is just as important as choosing a good doctor.

This place really took care of my pupper. When I got pops I noticed he had some dental issues and called right away I also knew he needed his shots. I could tell it's been a long time since he was seen. After taking him for his shots we realized he had periodontal disease and needed some teeth extractions. Pops actually had 16 teeth extracted yesterday and he's already doing so well today. he's a little playful he has an appetite and he's drinking water.
The nurses were very patient and understanding and worked with my schedule. Pops's dr never hesitated to call me and let me know how pops was doing. Service was amazing. I trust them with my pupper and I feel safe taking him there for future visits. Great work!

Blown away by our first experience here and superb customer service from the staff, especially *Hannah* Brought my 3 month old Doberman for vaccines. From the first phone call setting up the appointment up until the very end was a pleasant experience. Hannah was very personable, sweet and fun to talk to, she made our experience memorable. As a first time patient she gave my puppy a goody bag = which included a Kong toy, puppy food, and useful informational pamphlets. Thank you Hannah for your exceptional customer service! You are a great asset to this company!

Okay, I was here few months ago because my cat Rio had UTI or blockage in the urinary tract. It was an emergency situation, so I took him to the VCA emergency, but they quoted me ridiculous amount of money. I had to sign a paper and pay $80 for just seeing the vet, and leave. My cat was crying all night, and I came to this place the next morning, and their price was reasonable enough and I had him put on the catheter and stay there three days.
Even after Rio was emitted, Dr. A and his staff called and followed up on Rio's condition and made sure that he is well. He is now a happy cat again, thanks to Dr. A and all his staff :D

My review is my tip. TL; DR 4 Stars My furry loved one recently had to undergo a surgery from an unexpected injury. I discovered from Bloomfield Animal Hospital through a friend who's had a good experience with them. Dr. A and his staff are friendly and welcoming. The office is located on the 2nd floor via stairs or elevator. Multiple ways to communicate. I appreciate that they email you a copy of your pet's X-ray. Pricing is reasonable & slightly above average. Limited parking. Call to make an appointment. SYOY

Dr. Arambulo is awesome! Negasonic Zoey is thankfully a very happy and healthy little lady I read other reviews saying that if you don't do your research, Dr. A charges you more? I can say I've never experienced that. Dr. A has always been reliable and kind to us. Also--why wouldn't you do some research on your own into why your fur baby isn't feeling well before coming in? Doing the research and asking the right questions before visiting any doctor is always helpful, I believe. Anyway--I definitely recommend coming here to get your fur babies thoroughly checked out!

This review is for a call in to get a prescription: My Pomeranian has heart failure and a collapsing trachea. He is still active but had a bad cough. Our vet prescribed a cough medicine they didn't have in stock so I was called around and called Bloomfield. The girl on the phone was very kind and not only looked into the medication we needed but was able to get the doctor on the phone to speak about alternative medications for my dog!
While they were unable to help they did go out of their way to seek alternatives to assist my dog in being comfortable. That is rare in this world of vets as they want you to come in and spend $60 for a visit before they talk to you. Not these guys. I was impressed and it meant a lot to me that they would try and help us out.
